The Riverdale High School Experience
College Prep
Our college-going culture begins freshman year. Students take challenging courses, build strong academic habits, and have access to college credit opportunities right here at Riverdale.
Critical Thinking
Small classes and personalized attention give students opportunities to ask questions, engage deeply with ideas, and develop the skills and confidence to think for themselves.
Global Perspectives
Students are encouraged to explore complex ideas, consider different perspectives, and connect their learning to a broader world through rigorous academics and our International Baccalaureate® program.
International Baccalaureate® Diploma Programme
Riverdale High School is proud to offer the full International Baccalaureate® (IB) Diploma Programme to our rising juniors.
This comprehensive program is designed to develop well-rounded, critical thinkers prepared for university and beyond.
The IB Diploma Programme is a rigorous pre-university course of study that includes six subject areas along with core components such as Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay, and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS).
Field Studies
Our Field Studies program offers students hands-on experiences through week-long excursions that apply classroom knowledge in real-world settings.
From sailing to filmmaking, these opportunities encourage students to step outside their comfort zones, explore their interests, and expand their skills through immersive learning experiences.
College Preparation
College Prep is an important part of the Riverdale experience. Riverdale's diploma surpasses a typical Oregon high school diploma, preparing students for success in higher education and beyond.
With the support of our college counseling services, Riverdale students receive guidance as they explore colleges, navigate the application process, and prepare for life after high school. Our students have been accepted to colleges across the country.
Athletics & Extracurriculars
Riverdale High School offers a diverse range of athletic programs and extracurricular activities that support student well-being, connection, and growth.
Whether students are passionate about sports, music, visual arts , or leadership, they can find opportunities to explore their interests, build relationships, and contribute to the Riverdale community.
